Off-island service – Can incorporate airport/railway station pick-up and drop-off.
Bespoke Tours – Tours tailored to your requirements. Nothing is fixed or standard. You may already be on Mull or you may be visiting for the day. This means pick up and return places, itinerary and timing are arranged to suit you, my customer.
North Mull – Can include picturesque village of Dervaig (it’s church is connected to the Da Vinci Code – I can explain when there), Calgary art gallery and Art in Nature (short walk through woods with sculptures in the trees) and Calgary beach, Lip na Cloiche (unique gardens), Ulva Ferry (I will show you the unusual method of summoning the ferryman) and time in Tobermory before or after tour.
South Mull – Can include a visit to Ardalanish (traditional weavers), Whitetail Gin distillery and Isle of Iona (10 minute ferry crossing from the village of Fionnphort). I try, where possible, to include the stunning West Coast route (Gribun rocks).
Other places/routes – Can include Duart Castle (13th century home of the chief of the clan MacLean), Loch Buie and Moy Castle, Carsaig (a there and back road from Pennyghael).
Fares etc. – My vehicle is a licensed taxi and, therefore, has a meter. I rarely use it. Most of my work is tours with visitors to Mull and I feel an ever increasing monetary amount in the display is an unwanted and unnecessary distraction when you are looking at fantastic scenery. I tend to work at a fixed hourly rate from home (Tobermory) to home. I explain all costs in my quote and I round down my rate for trips lasting several hours. Fare quoted is for the taxi – I never charge per person. I cannot accept payment by card, as this requires internet access, which is not available where I stop. Cash/cheque/BACS work for me although overseas payments can incur bank charge for both parties.
I aim to give my customers the best experience of the Isle of Mull and I advise quality before quantity but, if you become my customer, I will do everything I can to accommodate your wishes.
